Design:
Pre-insulated ducts are made of galvanized steel sheets. They are insulated with mineral wool. The standard insulation thickness is 80 mm. Other types of wool may be used, according to different parameters, such as the thermal conductivity coefficient.
Dimensions:
As a standard, the pre-insulated ducts and fittings system includes all rectangular elements up to 2000x2000 mm. Individual arrangements are made in case of larger elements.
Maintenance:
Design of the pre-insulated ducts allows mechanical cleaning and sanitizing.
Installation:
Ducts are usually installed on roofs; standard supporting elements for ventilation ducts are required.
Silicone is applied on the internal duct frame and a seal is placed on the external frame. Then, the elements are assembled and bolted with screws and mounting clips on the outer frame.
For protection against water, it is necessery to apply a band (OP-TYP1) on duct connections.
For better airtightness, additional silicone may be applied on the internal connections.
It is recommended to place supports near the middle of the ducts in order to reduce deformation.
The most important parameter in support arrangement is the support load from the duct.
